Our Knitter's Hand Repair Salves Our Appalachian Knitter's Hand Repair Salves - created as a companion product for the soaps in response to our customers' requests - contain the same ground medicinal healing herbs, the comfrey-infused olive oil, sweet almond oil, but more cocoa and shea butter than the soap, along with a little beeswax to 'stiffen' the consistency. These salves are perfect to put on your hands at night before bedtime, or any time you can spare 10 minutes or so for these thick, wonderful butters to melt into your skin.Our salves are available as a convenient Lotion Bar Roll-On in two sizes (Pocket and Large) as well as in salve jars of various sizes for those occasions when you want a thicker application of salve. Our Lotion Bar is simply our salve recipe poured into a deodorant container while the oils are melted and therefore liquid. As it cools, the salve then becomes a solid again, and you simply 'roll up' the salve to a level just above the lip of the container, and apply it directly to problem dry areas. Many dry skin conditions today are in spots or areas, and having the salve available in a container like this for direct application prevents you from needing to apply it with your own hands, at times when it might be inconvenient to get your fingers 'slick' Our lotion bar fits inside a pants pocket or a purse easily, without spill worries. Please note that our salves are also great for non-quilters!
